Mission:
To ensure the continued existence of major symphony orchestras in North America through volunteerism.
AMSOV WEBINARS
AMSOV is committed to providing membership benefits for its members throughout the year. One way to reach our members in the times between our biennial Conferences is to host webinars in which our members can participate, listen and ask questions. We have many experts who are familiar with a variety of issues facing symphony orchestras and their volunteers. We are happy to give our members access to experts throughout our volunteer organizations and our respective orchestras who will share their knowledge and experience.
AMSOV Announces Fall Webinar
AMSOV is pleased to announce a webinar this fall which should be of great interest to all symphony orchestra volunteers and symphony orchestra staff members. The date is Monday, October 14, 2024 (see details below). The topic of the seminar is:
Aligning Volunteer and Orchestra Goals
Are your volunteer activities well suited to the symphony orchestra you are seeking to serve? Does the symphony orchestra value your work, or would the orchestra actually prefer that the volunteers spend their time and efforts doing something else? What is the best way for volunteers to maximize their value to their orchestras spend their volunteer hours as constructively as possible?
These and related questions will be addressed in this webinar.
We are fortunate to have as our webinar speaker Dr. Holly Hull Miore. Dr. Miori has spent nearly 20 years fundraising and is the author of Millennial Philanthropy: Next Generation Fund Development for Professionals and Nonprofits. She has recruited and trained leaders and has raised funds both locally and nationally in areas as diverse as higher education, healthcare and social services. She holds master’s degrees in theological studies and public affairs and a PhD in public affairs, where she focused on millennial philanthropy. Her research on trends in philanthropy includes faith-based fundraising, family foundations, and conscious capitalism.
